Mid Century Modern

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

There is a fantastic new article on the Get It Scrapped blog today: Scrapbook pages inspired by Mid Century Modern.  I had a pretty good idea I knew what this was, but did some research anyway. I read this article on Houzz.com and looked at the Get It Scrapped Pinterest board as well.

I went fairly literal with this layout. I used the ideas of clean lines, graphic patterns and bridging the outdoors. The design of the page is simple with straight edges. The graphic patterns and colors are representative of wallpaper and artwork. The woodgrain paper and burlap give the page texture, as well as an outdoor feeling.  The embellishments are neutral, but continue the theme of outdoors and are graphic in their design.

We had had a rough summer as a family. Celebrating my husband's birthday by having dinner out with friends was a way to do just that. Celebrate. It was time to recognize the little things and give them meaning. And so we did.

Thanks for taking a look at my creative view today. For more fabulous projects, please read today's blog post at Get It Scrapped.
